Remove "Book held during checkout"/ Cart Hold

This function is unnecessary for PangoBooks and creates anxiety and frustration over purchasing. Every listing is unique! If the exact same special editions were being sold by a special edition company, that would be understandable but that does not apply to PangoBooks. Saving payment methods and addresses is a feature that exists and already expedites/simplifies the check out process for those who wish to purchase the book quickly. There were multiple instances of where books couldn't be checked out even though buyer was 100% ready because the book was held in someone else's cart. It's unfair to those of us who don't have time to scroll/refresh all day, and when we do luckily spot something, can't check out because of the cart hold. Feedback on other platforms like the Pango Facebook page also share this sentiment. Please remove this new cart hold feature.

I agree, this feature is ridiculous and I’ve lost out on so many books. I wait in line and I know I’m second in line if the first buyer decides not to buy it, however it jumps from me to the next person! Awful feature.

Agreed. First come, first served. I can easily see a buyer going "I want this book. Oh, there's a hold. I'll just get the next one," and then "holder" decides not to complete the sale. I hate the 5 min cart hold feature. It should be whoever is fastest. By allowing people to just keep refreshing and keeping an item in their cart while thinking about it, I sometimes pass on books I was gonna buy cause I don’t want to deal with that. I should be able to check out as soon as I add the book to my cart and if I’m faster putting in my address than Samantha that’s just the way it should be, in my opinion.

We appreciate this feedback and please know that this is just version 1 of the hold feature. We intend to introduce auto-buy feature and are working on that infrastructure. The current iteration of the cart hold is not the final version!

I can't upvote this as much as I would like to but the cart hold has made shopping way more stressful and frustrating. It doesn't seem to have any sort of queue order either, the timer just restarts even if you were the first one to actually add it to your cart and try to push buy now the second the timer expires. I've missed a lot of things that I am ready and willing to buy, I leave earnings in my store for book buying and keep missing things I want. Please please take away the cart hold, it's just a mess!

I love this new feature and would vote for it to stay. I do not save payment methods anywhere (I've had to deal with banks several times because of stolen card numbers and it's a nightmare) so having a few minutes to go fetch my wallet and complete the purchase it's very helpful!

I would say I do not save my payment methods to any site so a checkout hold is not terrible. However 5 mins is excessive and just doing 2 mins would be much more reasonable.
