New notification on main page of books needing to be shipped

I appreciate that there’s now a banner on the main page that lists a notification that I have books to be sent out. However it needs to update when I mark a book as shipped. Otherwise, it will show I still need to ship a book until USPS finally decides to scan in the package. It happens quite frequently that they are delayed in doing that.

Agreed. Especially since PB is often WAY behind on the status update from USPS. I kept getting one of these three days after USPS marked the pkg as received and in transit, and one that was not marked delivered by PB almost 72 hrs after pkg was actually delivered.
How about:
-Three days after purchase reminders are sent to seller to ship. (excluding weekends and holidays)
-If seller marks shipped in that three days, the timer for the reminder resets.
-PB checks the shipment more frequently to verify whether or not the package is actually in the mail or delivered (every 6 hrs or so, perhaps).
-Give users an option to "force check" the USPS site (say, once every 24 - 72 hrs) to update the PB site if the status is off.
